Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file your browser saves when you visit a site. It can be read on later visits to recognise the same browser. Some cookies expire when you close the tab (session cookies); others persist for weeks, months, or years.

Strictly necessary — sign-in session, CSRF protection, language preference. Without these the site does not work. Set by Uranao itself.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (cookies named _ga and _ga_*). These tell us aggregate traffic patterns: most-read articles, slow pages, popular locales. We have configured them with IP anonymisation. You can opt out by installing Google's browser extension at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising — Google AdSense. When you visit a free page that shows ads, Google may set cookies to measure ad performance and (with your consent) to personalise the ads you see. You can control ad personalisation at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.

We do not use cookies for fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, or sharing with data brokers.

All major browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will sign you out and break some features. Blocking analytics or advertising cookies has no impact on the working of the site. Specific guides:

Uranao respects Do Not Track signals where browsers send them. If your browser sends DNT, we instruct Google Analytics to anonymise your session further. Note that DNT is being phased out in favour of the Global Privacy Control (GPC); we honour both.

When we add or remove a cookie category, we update this page and adjust the "Last updated" date. If the change is material (for example, adding a new advertising network), we surface it on the homepage.
